WELCOME MESSAGE
In writing to his beloved friend and wife, Abigail Adams, John Adams stated, "Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it" (Philadelphia, Saturday evening, 26 April 1777).

Friends, we are living in perilous times. In many ways, we have not made a good use of our freedom. Our lack of eternal vigilance has left us with a Country that must be restored. But do we understand the cost of freedom? Do we understand the cost of preserving it? Are we willing and ready to "mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor," in honor of those who paid this same price? If you are one who can make this pledge, then know that this is a place for you and other like-minded Wilsonians who are looking for information and direction on how to restore these United States. So, you no longer have to feel powerless or alone as you see what is being done to our Country. America is being fundamentally transformed and dissolved, and we all must work together to be informed and active in halting and reversing the decline of our Land of Liberty. Otherwise, we will wake up, someday soon, to find our Republic dead and buried.

Please take a moment to review our mission statement, our principles, and our values below. If you choose to actively stand with our cause, then here are some things you can do:

  1. PRAY! - Our success in the work before us depends upon us working with the Lord, through His wisdom and grace.
  2. SIGN UP - It's free, takes a few moments, and puts you on our e-mail list.
  3. READ The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the U.S., and The Bill of Rights (find these three resources on our "FREEBIES" page), as well as The 5000 Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen (These resources will put a fire in your belly!)
  4. Attend EVENTS - Check our Events page and join us at our Monthly Meetings and Table-Talks (Our organized education initiative).
  5. PLUG-IN - Put your gifts and talents to work; connect with one of our Steering Committee members (see the list below), depending on what you're good at, and join us in the work that needs to be done.
  6. DONATE - Click on our donate tab at the top of this page.
  7. Visit WilsonNCTeaParty.com often - Post important news and information on our BLOG and VIDEOS pages, enjoy our LINKS and FREEBIES.
  8. CONNECT - Reach out to other Tea Partiers on this website and fellowship with one another. As the Apostle Paul said, "Know those who labor among you."

Now is not the time to be discouraged. Lift up your head! You have an opportunity to play an indispensable role in helping us revive our county, state, and nation for freedom and liberty. David, the sweet psalmist Israel asked in Psalm 11:3 (KJV), “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The foundations of America are being destroyed more rapidly than ever before and it is time for those who are the light of the world and the salt of the earth to wake up and run into the darkness and infection which is overtaking the God-given destiny of this great land.

As you read the information below, please prayerfully consider what our Lord would have for you to do as we work to restore America to her righteous foundations.

“We the people” are the answer to our Nation's ills and we are rising up in the sound of liberty. We will restore America. New Tea Party groups are sprouting up every single day all over this country, and together, we are marching, as one, all across our "fruited plain."

God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

Joel Killion (Founder) & Bobby Pittman (Lead Coordinator)

MISSION STATEMENT
Standing together for limited government, lower taxes, free markets, constitutional values, fiscal responsibility, and the restoration of honor.

WHO WE ARE
The Wilson NC Tea Party is a grassroots, non-partisan movement for liberty and freedom that crosses racial, denominational, and political party lines. We are Independents, Libertarians, Democrats, and Republicans. We are black, white, red, brown, and yellow. We are Catholics and Protestants, young and old, male and female and we are unified around the Judeo-Christian principles and values of our founding. [For a more complete report of who we are on a local and national level, CLICK HERE]. We are bringing “our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor” to the table to organize a grassroots voice within Wilson County that stands for limited government, lower taxes, free markets, constitutional values, and fiscal responsibility. We put principle before party and vote for those who are most aligned with our values. We put integrity and character before flowery words and polished personas. We put common sense before utopian ideals and progressive lies.

We honor every legitimate, Constitutional government office and position. We love our country and pray, daily, for all our leaders. However, this country is on the wrong track and nearly 80% of Americans do not trust the federal government and do not believe that it can solve America's ills (April 19th Pew Research poll).

OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLES & VALUES

America’s Founders created this nation on the basis of twenty-eight timeless, self-evident principles, guaranteeing us lasting peace, prosperity, and freedom:

  1. The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is Natural Law.
  2. A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.
  3. The most promising method of securing a virtuous and morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders.
  4. Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.
  5. All things were created by God, therefore upon Him all mankind are equally dependent, and to Him they are equally responsible.
  6. All men are created equal.
  7. The proper role of government is to protect equal rights, not provide equal things.
  8. Men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.
  9. To protect man's rights, God has revealed certain principles of divine law.
  10. The God-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people through representative government.
  11. The majority of the people may alter or abolish a government which has become tyrannical.
  12. The United States of America shall be a republic.
  13. A constitution should be structured to permanently protect the people from the human frailties of their rulers.
  14. Life and liberty are secure only so long as the right of property is secure.
  15. The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a free-market economy and a minimum of government regulations.
  16. The government should be separated into three branches - legislative, executive, and judicial.
  17. A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power.
  18. The unalienable rights of the people are most likely to be preserved if the principles of government are set forth in a written constitution.
  19. Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to government, all others being retained in the people.
  20. Efficiency and dispatch require government to operate according to the will of the majority, but constitutional provisions must be made to protect the rights of the minority.
  21. Strong local self-government is the keystone to preserving human freedom.
  22. A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men.
  23. A free society cannot survive as a republic without a broad program of general education.
  24. A free people will not survive unless they stay strong.
  25. "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations - entangling alliances with none."
  26. The core unit which determines the strength of any society is the family; therefore, the government should foster and protect its integrity.
  27. The burden of debt is as destructive to freedom as subjugation by conquest.
  28. The United States has a manifest destiny to be an example and a blessing to the entire human race.

For a deeper understanding of these principles, read The 5000 Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen.

TEA PARTY PRAISE
"The Tea Party movement is magnificent in its commitment and determination to hold candidates to what Republicanism and conservatism are supposed to be. They're supposed to be about a devotion to smaller government, lower taxes, and constitutional behavior. That is where the touchstones are." - Mark Davis of WBAP 820AM in the Dallas Metroplex

DISCLAIMERS
1) The Wilson NC Tea Party does not endorse candidates on the Federal, State, or Local levels. We are simply pointing Wilson County and the surround area to the principles and values of our founding so that every man and woman will be able to vote, in the primary and general elections, for those candidates who are most aligned with those principles and values.

2) The views and opinions shared on the Wilson NC Tea Party Blog, by its various members, do not necessarily represent the views and opinions of the Wilson NC Tea Party leadership and volunteer base. Since the Wilson NC Tea Party is "Of The People, For The People, By The People" and believes in the First Amendment, we cannot and will not deny any member their right to "free speech" regarding their political and/or policy positions, but our tolerance of their views does not necessarily reflect consent.
